Bonny Jean has now graduated High School and is looking forward to having more time to devote to her musical endeavors. Currently, she can be found most Wednesdays playing at Gordie's Bar and Deli in Twentynine Palms. Also keep an eye on the calendar for appearances throughout the desert region, including March 11th at 29 Palms Inn. Marching Band Season - October 21, 2010
Marching Band season is in full swing! This is Bonny Jean's senior year and she is pleased that the band is doing quite well. They have struggled for the past few years with limited students. This year the band has 38 members and has qualified for the State Championships winning Sweepstakes Awards for band in their first two competitions. It's a great accomplishment in her last year of high school.
Bonny intends to graduate a semester early and looks forward to more time to pursue her music. You can see her regularly at the 29 Palms Inn. She is fortunate to be playing most Tuesdays and Sundays with veteran singer, songwriter and blues guitarist, Chris Walters. Bonny plays solo the first Friday of every moth and fills in on other days as needed. See her calendar for dates and times.
A "Young Mover" ! - May 15, 2010
Bonny Jean was recently featured as a "Young Mover" in Hi Desert Publishing's April 2010 edition of Spirit Magazine! Check out the article on the press page.
Change - January 20, 2010
Bonny Jean has been extremely busy for the past 6 months. This past marching band season The 29 Palms High School Marching Band combined with the Yucca Valley High School Band which kept her traveling from August through December. The Marching band participated in nearly twice as many competitions as usual throughout southern California. In addition to her rigorous marching band schedule, she has been busy with TPHS Select Choir. They performed at numerous events during the holiday season.
Sad news...Jeff and Jamie Hafler have retired from The 29 Palms Inn, so Bonny will not be appearing there regularly at this time. However, they will be calling on her now and then to appear with them. Currently, she is focusing on new genres and is working with a local blues guitarist. Be sure to check her calendar, as we will be posting new events as they are scheduled. Don't forget to add yourself to her e-mail list to receive info on upcoming appearances.
Huck Finn Jubilee - July 6, 2009
Bonny Jean was fortunate to appear for the first time on the main stage! Jason Weiss asked if she would play bass, and join Alex Finazzo on guitar, backing him during the Deering Banjo Championship. Congratulations Jason on Third Place!
Thank you Don and Barbara Tucker for another great year!
Missy Raines and The New Hip - March 19, 2009
Hi Everyone,
I recently had the pleasure to see Missy Raines and The New Hip at Boulevard Music in February. They were fantastic! I was honored to meet them, and fortunate to be able to attend a bass workshop with Missy the following week. I'm really enjoying the bass. I'm working on some new songs, and hope to have recordings up soon. If you can make it to one of my gigs, please say "hi". I would love to meet you!
Boulevard Music - January 30, 2009
Hi Everyone!
I have a fantastic opportunity to perform with Scott Gates at Boulevard Music, on February 7th, opening for The Nathan McEuen Band. Please see my calendar for details. This will be an amazing show!
Recently, I have been busy playing bass with The Hafler Duo at the 29 Palms Inn intermittently on Friday nights. I would love to visit with you if you can make it there. Reservations are helpful, and please tell them Bonny Jean sent you.
